My Guitar!

Born and raised in Southern West Virginia. No, I don't play blue grass. I couldn't hold a candle to those guys!

I've been learning guitar for decades. I actually started with percussion. I started learning drumset at around 5 years old. Of course, I went through the whole school band thing playing drums there too. Afterwards, I went on to college to study percussion, but my passion was with the guitar.

I began learning guitar at around 10 years old.  I had a book and friends to go off of.  And we all had the tapes of the day. I immediately fell in love with Ozzy, Twisted Sister, Def Leppard and later on, Warrant, Extreme, White Lion and so on. Not having the access available today, we figured out what we could before the tape started to fail.

I started learning by ear,  but recently started to dive deeper and deeper into the theory behind it all. I guess you could say I really started “studying” guitar about 5 years ago. I've been working on technique and exploring the various sounds available today and how they work within the mix of a tune. It really is an amazing time to be a musician….of any age.

Music isn't my day job, but it is a very large part of my life. I spend every possible moment playing, recording, writing and mixing.  Retirement is coming. I know exactly what I'll be doing once this part of life is behind me. If you need me, just listen, I'm sure you'll hear me if your close.
